Beauty stop was founded by Manka Kinteh in 2017 in Gambia. After 27 years of experience as a hairdresser Manka Kinteh has opened a training school, in order to share the knowledge and experience acquired over the years. Her career first started in 1996 at the college of North East London, now known as Connel College, where she studied NVQ Hairdressing, as well as a GNVQ Business and Finance. While studying she worked at a busy hairdressing salon in Leyton called Expressions in Hair. By the age of 22, in 2002, she opened her first hair salon in Walthamstow East London called ‘Creations’. In 2006, she opened her 2 nd Salon called Vanity Hair and Beauty. In 2012, she relaunched her business as Niqabi Hair and Beauty, a salon dedicated to providing services to women only, especially women who wear the hijab or niqab, the first of its kind in London. She later relocated to Gambia with her family in 2015. In 2016, she opened another Niqabi hair and beauty salon in Gambia. Encouraging women and girls to love, grow and take care of their natural hair and beauty. One year later founded Beauty Stop International, providing hair and beauty products and women only salon services.
